How the story goes

This story is based on the true adventures of Mimi, Plucky and Mucky who live in my brother John’s garden. John who is intellectually challenged inspires us all with his love for animals.
The story takes the reader on a journey of friendship and play as the main characters discover the meaning of forgiveness and resolution. They find that their friendship is strengthened as a result of the love and support from their family. The 'Duck Dance' at the end of the story is a fun interactive way of getting children dancing.

All characters lived happily ever after.

About the Author

Portrait FrancescaFrancesca Abbonizio lives in Perth, Western Australia where she began writing as a child. Several small stories printed in the local newspaper and a poem written in dedication to the Wittenoom mine workers inspired her to write more. Apart from having completed her first story book, Francesca is currently volunteering in a Children’s community project while dedicating lots of playtime to her son Callum.

Inspiration for this Book

One of my main motivations in writing this story is the fact that it’s based on a true event that occurred in my mother and brothers back yard. My parent’s garden was a typical Italian garden where basically everything we needed for the dinner table was harvested in our suburban ‘mini farm’. A great way to grow up knowing that food didn’t come from the supermarket! read more »
